Honoring the Light & the Shadow of Mothers Day
For the day after… and for the everyday moments in between.

Good Monday Morning Bloomers, I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I know I did. It was filled with moments of joy, gratitude…and all the things that, “Mothers Day”, the holiday, holds…and then, there’s the other moments.

Mothers Day is very often wrapped in flowers, brunches, cards, photographs, and smiling family tables.

And sometimes… it is not.

Sometimes it is silence, estrangement…longing.
Sometimes it is the ache of what never was, what once was, or what can no longer be.

Some grieve mothers who have passed.
Many grieve relationships that feel strained, fractured, or distant.
While some are navigating motherhood while quietly losing pieces of themselves.

And too many Mothers are missing their children who have left their world too soon.

Others are missing connection, missing reconciliation.
Some are mothers in every way, except biology.
And, some are healing from wounds created by the very hands that were meant to nurture them.

Many of us are holding both gratitude and grief at the very same table.

So today, the day after Mother’s Day, I simply want to pause and honor all of it.

Not just the light.
But the shadow too.

I want you to know that if yesterday felt complicated, you are not alone.
If yesterday felt beautiful, you are allowed to hold that fully too.
And if it felt like both joy and sorrow weaving together in the same breath… that is the many, and that is human.

This morning, I am sending a gentle hug outward to all who needed to be seen yesterday and perhaps did not feel seen at all.

May we remember that love does not always arrive in perfect packaging.
May we allow ourselves to grieve honestly and love softly.
May we stop measuring our worth against curated holidays and filtered moments.
And may we honor the sacred truth that healing relationships, motherhood, identity, and family are often layered, evolving journeys.

Today, and every day after, may you find your way gently back to your own heart. You are seen. You are loved.

and as always… Stay Bloomin’.
