When the Nervous System Finally Exhales
Monday May 25, 2026

It finally came to pass, the moment when I realized I was no longer standing inside the same version of myself that had carried me through the last three years.

Not because fireworks went off. Not because some grand external milestone suddenly appeared. But because one morning I woke up, took a deeper breath than I had in years, and quietly realized… something had finally left my body.

This past week felt like a threshold for me. Not simply a busy week or an emotional week, but the closing of an era that has lived within me for nearly three years. A cycle of unraveling, rebuilding, grieving, becoming, releasing, remembering, surviving, and slowly returning to myself again.

And truthfully, once I moved through it, I didn’t feel dramatic. I felt tired.

Not depleted. Not broken. Just deeply aware that my nervous system had been carrying more than I consciously realized.

So this weekend, I rested.

I watched way too much Mad Men, again! I ate too much ice cream. I let the hours unfold without needing to optimize every moment of them. I wrote when words came. I stayed quiet when they didn’t. And somewhere in the middle of all that stillness, I realized something important:

The old version of me would have judged this pause. The new version of me understands it.

For so many years, I believed rest had to be earned through exhaustion. That slowing down meant I was falling behind. That if I stopped moving for too long, somehow everything would disappear. But healing has taught me otherwise. Sometimes the most sacred moments of growth happen after the storm passes… when the body finally realizes it is safe enough to unclench.

I think that is where I am now.

Not fully arrived. Not perfectly healed, as healing is a life journey. But no longer standing inside the same fog.

There is something incredibly beautiful about realizing that the life you are beginning to build, this new era, can no longer be sustained by the nervous system that survived the life you are leaving behind. But, we can honor that survival instinct, and its tenacity, but, We Don’t Live There Anymore

And perhaps that is the emergence I have been feeling lately.

Not the loud emergence of proving or performing. But the quieter emergence of the female founder archetype learning how to lead, create, build, receive, and expand without abandoning herself in the process.

As The Bloom Center prepares to open its doors and this next season unfolds, I can feel that I am no longer building from urgency. I am building from truth. From capacity. From grounded vision. From the understanding that softness and strength were never opposites to begin with.

And that is what this threshold was truly about. Not becoming someone else.

But finally allowing my nervous system to exhale long enough to remember who I already was. And what a beautiful, deep exhale that is. Phewww.

As always, thank you for walking this Journey to Bloom alongside me. Whether you are standing at the beginning of something new, moving through a threshold of your own, or simply learning how to rest in the in-between, may this season remind you that growth does not always arrive loudly. Sometimes it arrives softly, through the deep breath after the storm, the quiet return to yourself, and the courage to trust what is unfolding next.

Stay Rooted, Stay Rising, and as always, Stay Bloomin’!
