After telling the little girl she could rest, something inside me shifted.
Not dramatically.
Not all at once.
Just a quiet settling. The kind that happens when a nervous system realizes it no longer has to stay on watch.
This morning, the sunlight arrived softly again, glistening off the icy trees, the way it does when the day is just beginning to stretch itself awake. And in that light I found myself reflecting on something simple, yet profound:
When the younger parts of us finally feel safe enough to rest, the woman we are becoming begins to rise — not in urgency, but in steadiness.
For so long, many of us learned how to move through life with vigilance.
Watching.
Anticipating.
Protecting.
And those instincts served us well for a time. They helped us navigate seasons that required strength we didn’t yet know we possessed. But growth has a way of inviting a different rhythm.
A softer strength.
A steadier breath.
A deeper trust in the unfolding of our lives.
This week, I find myself reflecting on what it means to move forward from that place of inner sanctuary.
Not forcing answers.
Not proving worth.
Not rushing toward some imagined finish line.
Instead, simply allowing life to meet me where I am, and trusting that each step taken with awareness is enough.
The woman in the sanctuary does not need to chase the future. She walks toward it with grace. She trusts the quiet wisdom that arrives in stillness. She honors the journey that brought her here.
And she understands that becoming is not a race, but a relationship with herself.
So today’s reflection is gentle…
If a part of you is tired, let her rest.
If a part of you is ready to step forward, let her rise slowly.
Both belong to the same beautiful unfolding, and both are worthy of compassion, patience, and love.
Still blooming.
Still learning.
Still walking forward — one steady step at a time.
With love, and gentle blooming ~ Christine
